Managing Director and Head of South Asia
Srini re-joined CDC in June 2013 and is currently Head of South Asia and based out of Bangalore. In his current role he is CDC's representative on the ground and responsible for its investments in the region.
Previously Srini was Director with a global PE fund Actis and focussed on Private Equity deals in the Financial Services sector in South Asia. Prior to this Srini was focusing on deal origination for Actis in India and also managed a portfolio of CDC investments in South Asia for value. Srini spent close to eight years in Sub Saharan Africa with both CDC and Standard Chartered Bank.
Srini has a Masters degree in Economics and a post Graduate in Business Administration from Warwick School of Business
Director - Impact Accelerator
Nikhil joined CDC's Bangalore office in November 2016, and is currently responsible for overseeing DIAF’s investments in the region.
Prior to joining CDC, Nikhil’s investment experience spans more than 12 years. Most recently, he worked with Sequoia Capital India where he led and advised on investments in the consumer, healthcare and technology sectors, and played a key role in strengthening Sequoia's India franchise.
Prior to Sequoia, Nikhil spent time working on private equity investments at CLSA Capital Partners in Singapore, notably in the areas of consumer goods and manufacturing. He has also worked for the AIG Group in India.
Nikhil holds an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad and a Mechanical Engineering degree from IIT Madras.
Director - Portfolio Management for South Asia
Sumit joined CDC in 2015 as Director for Portfolio Management for South Asia and is based in Bangalore.
Previously Sumit worked in corporate finance in large companies, has completed multiple deals across geographies as part of his M&A role at Wipro and ran offshore centres in Deutsche Bank India. Prior to joining CDC, Sumit worked for a portfolio company which was part of Blackstone Private Equity.
Sumit is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Director - Infrastructure
Arun joined CDC in June 2016 as Director – Infrastructure with a specific initial focus on the Indian Renewables sector and is based in Bangalore.
Arun has almost 25 years’ experience of working in the Indian private equity space, managing investments in various verticals, eg. start-ups, growth private equity, public markets, infrastructure and real estate. Prior to joining CDC, where he worked in the 1990s, Arun was at IL&FS Group and at Axis Bank’s PE arm.
Arun is a qualified Mechanical & Civil Engineer and has post-graduate degrees in marketing and costing.
Director - Financial Institutions
Gaurav joined CDC in 2016. His background is in management consulting and advisory assignments for financial institutions in India. He is based in Bangalore.
Gaurav has a wide range of consultancy experience, working for several financial institutions during his 10 years with The Boston Consulting Group in India and Europe. He also worked for a year as the head of strategy for an Indian family business. Gaurav has experience in several areas including growth strategy, consumer behaviour, distribution networks, operations and IT.
Gaurav has a degree in Engineering and a MBA from IIM Bangalore.
Director - Debt, South Asia
Rahul joined CDC in August 2016 as Director in the Debt team to help grow CDC’s debt investment portfolio and strengthen origination and execution capabilities in India and South Asia. He is based in the Bangalore office.
Prior to joining CDC Rahul worked with a Special Opportunities Credit fund sponsored by Edelweiss (a listed diversified financial services company in India).
Rahul has over 14 years of experience in credit analysis, financial restructuring, debt syndication and mezzanine investments in the renewables, construction and manufacturing sectors. He has previously worked with the Principal Investments team at J P Morgan and Standard Chartered Bank, where he was responsible for origination, execution and monitoring of mezzanine debt investments in India.
Rahul is a commerce graduate and has completed an MBA (Finance) from NMIMS, Mumbai University.
Executive, Impact Accelerator & Portfolio Management, South Asia
Vaishnavi joined CDC’s Bangalore office in April 2017. Prior to joining CDC, she worked with the Corporate Finance team in Lazard's Mumbai office.
Vaishnavi has 6 years of deal experience in the M&A advisory space focussing primarily on the consumer, healthcare and chemical sectors.
Vaishnavi is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master in Commerce from the University of Mumbai.
Associate, Debt & Financial Institutions
Ranjan joined CDC's Bangalore office in March 2017. Prior to joining, Ranjan worked in the Structured Finance business at Edelweiss Financial Services and in the Emerging Markets Structuring team at Deutsche Bank.
Ranjan has 5 years' experience in financial services both in Mumbai and London.
He has a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode.
