Managing Director and Head of South Asia
Srini re-joined CDC in June 2013 and is currently Head of South Asia and based out of Bangalore. In his current role he is CDC's representative on the ground and responsible for its investments in the region.
Previously Srini was Director with a global PE fund Actis and focussed on Private Equity deals in the Financial Services sector in South Asia. Prior to this Srini was focusing on deal origination for Actis in India and also managed a portfolio of CDC investments in South Asia for value. Srini spent close to eight years in Sub Saharan Africa with both CDC and Standard Chartered Bank.
Srini has a Masters degree in Economics and a post Graduate in Business Administration from Warwick School of Business
Director - Consumer
Ashish joined CDC in February 2018 as Director – Consumer and is based in Bangalore. He has over 15 years’ experience in private equity and advisory.
Prior to joining CDC, Ashish was Director at AIF Capital, an emerging Asia focused private equity firm, where he managed investments, growth and expansion strategy and exits for various companies in India and SE Asia.
Ashish has a degree in commerce, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
Director - Impact Accelerator
Nikhil joined CDC's Bangalore office in November 2016, and is currently responsible for overseeing DIAF’s investments in the region.
Prior to joining CDC, Nikhil’s investment experience spans more than 12 years. Most recently, he worked with Sequoia Capital India where he led and advised on investments in the consumer, healthcare and technology sectors, and played a key role in strengthening Sequoia's India franchise.
Prior to Sequoia, Nikhil spent time working on private equity investments at CLSA Capital Partners in Singapore, notably in the areas of consumer goods and manufacturing. He has also worked for the AIG Group in India.
Nikhil holds an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad and a Mechanical Engineering degree from IIT Madras.
Director - Infrastructure
Arun joined CDC in June 2016 as Director – Infrastructure with a specific initial focus on the Indian Renewables sector and is based in Bangalore.
Arun has almost 25 years’ experience of working in the Indian private equity space, managing investments in various verticals, eg. start-ups, growth private equity, public markets, infrastructure and real estate. Prior to joining CDC, where he worked in the 1990s, Arun was at IL&FS Group and at Axis Bank’s PE arm.
Arun is a qualified Mechanical & Civil Engineer and has post-graduate degrees in marketing and costing.
Director - Financial Institutions
Gaurav joined CDC in 2016. His background is in management consulting and advisory assignments for financial institutions in India. He is based in Bangalore.
Gaurav has a wide range of consultancy experience, working for several financial institutions during his 10 years with The Boston Consulting Group in India and Europe. He also worked for a year as the head of strategy for an Indian family business. Gaurav has experience in several areas including growth strategy, consumer behaviour, distribution networks, operations and IT.
Gaurav has a degree in Engineering and a MBA from IIM Bangalore.
Director - Debt, South Asia
Rahul joined CDC in August 2016 as Director in the Debt team to help grow CDC’s debt investment portfolio and strengthen origination and execution capabilities in India and South Asia. He is based in the Bangalore office.
Prior to joining CDC Rahul worked with a Special Opportunities Credit fund sponsored by Edelweiss (a listed diversified financial services company in India).
Rahul has over 14 years of experience in credit analysis, financial restructuring, debt syndication and mezzanine investments in the renewables, construction and manufacturing sectors. He has previously worked with the Principal Investments team at J P Morgan and Standard Chartered Bank, where he was responsible for origination, execution and monitoring of mezzanine debt investments in India.
Rahul is a commerce graduate and has completed an MBA (Finance) from NMIMS, Mumbai University.
Executive - Infrastructure
Himanshu joined CDC’s Bangalore office in October 2017 and has over 7 years of M&A advisory and fund raising experience in Indian infrastructure.
Prior to joining CDC, Himanshu was part of Investment & Strategy team of a renewable energy start-up platform in India, where he was instrumental in the growth of the portfolio and concluding its maiden $125m equity raise from IFC.
Himanshu comes with an investment banking background having worked with EY and Yes Bank with a specific focus on deals in Infrastructure/ Industrials sectors.
Himanshu has a degree in Engineering and an MBA from IIM Lucknow.
Executive, Impact Accelerator & Consumer
Vaishnavi joined CDC’s Bangalore office in April 2017. Prior to joining CDC, she worked with the Corporate Finance team in Lazard's Mumbai office.
Vaishnavi has 6 years of deal experience in the M&A advisory space focussing primarily on the consumer, healthcare and chemical sectors.
Vaishnavi is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master in Commerce from the University of Mumbai.
