Management team

Richard Laing, Chief Executive,

was appointed Chief Executive in 2003. He was Finance Director for CDC from 2000 to 2003. He was previously Finance Director of De La Rue plc and a non-executive director of Camelot plc. Prior to this he worked in agribusiness in developing countries and at PriceWaterhouse Coopers.

Shonaid Jemmett-Page, Chief Operations Officer,

joined CDC in February 2009 from Unilever where she had worked since 2001, firstly in their fastest growing business unit in Asia and most recently as Senior Vice President of Finance and Information. Prior to Unilever, Shonaid worked for KPMG for 20 years where she established and developed their sustainability unit.

Godfrey Davies, Chief Financial Officer,

joined CDC in 1992. His earlier career was spent with KPMG, Amalgamated Metal Corporation PLC and L M Fischel & Co Ltd.

Rod Evison, Managing Director, Africa,

joined CDC in 1992 and has been responsible for direct investments in CDC's power business and Africa. His earlier career was with IFC, Lloyds Bank and Bank of America.

Anubha Shrivastava, Managing Director, Asia,

Anubha is responsible for the Asian investment portfolio spanning across South and South-East Asia and China. She commenced her private equity career in 1999 with General Motors Asset Management's Private Equity Group in New York, USA. She was involved in the global private equity fund-of-funds portfolio as well as the global co-investment program. Thereafter she worked at Performance Equity Management, LLC, where she was responsible for managing the European fund-of-funds and co-investment portfolios.
Anubha started her career in Arthur Andersen and went on to work with Hambrecht & Quist, USA prior to joining General Motors Asset Management.

Hywel Rees-Jones, Managing Director, Alternatives,

Hywel is responsible for CDC's co-investment programme, global sector funds, alternative assets and microfinance across all CDC's core geographies

Hywel rejoined CDC in September 2006 after spending two years managing Actis's West Africa business based in Nigeria. In his earlier career with CDC Hywel was based in the UK, Tanzania, Eqypt and Thailand.

Miriam de Lacy, Director of Corporate Communications,

joined CDC in 2005 from Wellcome Trust. She has previously worked with a range of multi-nationals, government and charity organisations including Diageo, BT and the BBC.

Mark Kenderdine-Davies, General Counsel and Company Secretary,

Mark joined CDC in October 2006 from Gartmore Investment Management plc, where he was Legal Counsel for two years. Prior to that, he was Legal Counsel at Threadneedle Asset Management Limited. Between 1994 and 2002, he worked in Vietnam as General Counsel/Senior Investment Executive at Indochina Asset Management Limited and as Executive Director of an investment company. Mark has an LLB (Hons) from the University of Liverpool and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
