Complaints & whistleblowing

Submitting complaints or whistleblower reports​

We expect high standards from all our investment partners and portfolio companies. These standards are outlined in our Code of Responsible Investing.

The Code covers the management of environmental, social and governance issues by a company or fund manager we’re invested in. Anti-bribery and corruption measures are included in the governance section of the Code and we welcome the reporting of any suspicions of money laundering, bribery, corruption or other financial malpractice.

Our fund managers have day-to-day working relationships with the companies we are invested in through funds and are responsible for implementing the Code. We are responsible for implementing the Code where we have invested directly.

Reporting a breach of the Code of Responsible Investing

If you have evidence of a breach of our Code of Responsible Investing, please email reports@cdcgroup.com to let us know. Please include your name, contact details, the name of the CDC investee company concerned and the nature of the complaint. Such complaints will be treated confidentially and investigated by the Compliance Officer.

Filing a whistleblower report

Under UK legislation, employees of CDC are also able to file a whistle-blower report.

We have a strong commitment to integrity and ethical behaviour and we encourage staff who have concerns about suspected serious malpractice or misconduct or any breach or suspected breach of law or regulation that may adversely impact the company, to voice those concerns without fear of harassment or victimisation.

Our Director of Business Integrity and Compliance will conduct an investigation into the reports and we will progress them as quickly as possible. As much as we are able to, we will keep you informed of our investigations. Once we have completed the investigation, you will be provided with a summary of the outcome, again in so far as we are permitted to by law and/or confidentiality obligations.

Our Board will oversee the handling of all whistleblower reports that raise material issues.
