Nick Rouse worked for Barclays Bank for 33 years between 1972 and 2005, working latterly in Africa and specialising in Risk Management. From 2005-2014 he was CEO of Frontier Markets Fund Managers, the manager of two emerging market funds: the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund and GuarantCo. The two funds collectively deployed over USD 1.3 billion of debt instruments under his stewardship, predominantly in Sub-Saharan Africa. He is a non-Executive director of the UK subsidiary of the Nigerian bank First Monument Bank and a member of the Investment Committees of AgDevCo (a specialist investor in African agriculture) and ARCH Emerging Markets Partners (manager of an African equity fund investing in Renewable Power projects).
Nick joined CDC’s Investment Committee as an external member in 2013, and focusses on debt transactions.
